JoeGuitar® Professional Guitar AccessoriesJoeGuitar® was founded in 2002 by Joe Ross, longtime session musician, performer, retailer and instructor. JoeGuitar® products originated with guitar picks. Recognizing that there are plenty of guitar picks available in this world, Joe's goal was to make improvements in three areas: playing control, gauge sensibility and durability. Guitar Pick MaterialsOver the years, guitar picks have been made from many things. Plastic, metal and composite materials as well as natural ones like tortoise shell, stone and wood have all been or are currently being used in the manufacturer of guitar picks. Despite the mythical status of natural tortoise shell, and the "cool" factor of metal and stone, plastics remain on top as the pick making material of choice for the vast majority of guitar picks made world wide. Plastic is cheap and available, and can be made to act like virtually any other substance. JoeGuitar® brand guitar picks are available in Delrin® (trade name for actetel), HDPE, LDPE, Polycarbonate and Nylon. Each material offers its own unique properties and will appeal to different players performing in a range of genres. Guitar Pick Edge Shape & Release ControlAs guitarists develop, priorities change. New or younger players tend to prefer the forgiveness that a more flexible pick provides, while more experienced players will often favor a guitar pick with a little less "give." The stiffer pick affords more control over the instant that the pick actually releases the string, resulting in greater ability to make adjustments in timbre throughout a performance. JoeGuitar® Control Edge™ guitar picks utilize a unique edge shape that optimizes the balance between the hard edge of a die-cut pick and the tapered edge of most tumbled or injection molded guitar picks. The result is a greater range of tones and more precise picking, regardless of the musical style or thickness of pick the player prefers. Guitar Picks in Sensible GaugesTraditionally, guitar picks have been rated as "Thin," "Medium," "Heavy," etc. More recently, actual gauges, in fractions of a millimeter are used for most picks available. JoeGuitar® picks are also manufactured by gauge, however, fractions of an inch are used rather than their metric equivalents. The reason is simple. Guitar strings are sold using the inch as the base measurement, so most players have a pretty good idea how thick popular string gauges are. Examples include .042, .046, .032, .011, etc. This results in an easy top-of-the-head estimate of the thickness of the entire JoeGuitar® line of guitar picks. Professional Guitar String WinderThe JoeGuitar® Professional String Winder is Joe's answer to the countless poor quality winders on the market today. The idea is simple, to produce the best quality string winder available, and to make it as compact as possible so that no guitarist will ever be caught without one. The JoeGuitar® winder operates smoothly and won't wear out, thanks to bearing surfaces that keep vulnerable parts from rubbing together. And, now it is available in several colors. JoeGuitar® Business PhilosophyThe simple belief that top quality accessories enhance every player's performance underlies everything JoeGuitar® offers. JoeGuitar® professional guitar accessories are MADE IN USA, and provide guitarists of all levels, products that are affordable and unique. |
